Review : Florian Ratchet Pruner
I thought I should write a review as I have owned two of these for about 20 years. I can say that they last. The only time a handle broke was when I accidentally dumped than in recycle can and cut them with loppers. In a review of another brand the complaint was that pruner wouldn't cut without a second squeeze. That's what ratchet pruners are for. The effort involved is less with the 5 step ratchet. You can also cut smaller branches with just one squeeze, not always needing the ratchet properties. I have ash and oak trees, and 15 privet hedges. These work on large branches or suckers. I find they are particularly usefull when on my 8' stepladder or 22' extension ladder. Sometimes I have to hang on with one arm and find these very usefull, especially when loppers require two hands. I like using these when cutting big prunnings down to something I can get in the recycle. They are a lot faster than a lopper. I also own a Florian mini-lopper which I had for almost the same...
